A Poor, Undernourished and Under Developed Community Produces More Children.

The population of India grew by 17.7% in ten years, from 2001 to 2011. The extent of the growth varied from state to state. For example, the increase in Kerala was 4.5%; Andhra 11%; Himachal Pradesh 12.9%; W Bengal 13.8%; Punjab 13.9%; Odisha 14%;  Karnataka 15.6%; Tamil Nadu also 15.6%; Maharashtra 16%; Gujarat 19.3%; Haryana 19.9%; Uttar Pradesh 20.2%; Rajasthan 21.3%; Jharkhand 22.4%; and Bihar 25.4%. Why the increase in population was as little as 4.5% in Kerala and as large as 25.4% in Bihar? Does it ring any bell in your ears?

(It may also be recalled that the Muslims constitute 26.6% of Kerala’s population and 16.9% of Bihar’s. Does it silence the ringing in your ears of a false saffron alarm?)

Lesson: A community that provides better education to its women, health care to its children and gainful employment to its adults will become less fertile.
