The 'Eternal' Laws of Nature

My hunch is that there are no eternal laws of nature. There is only history. The universe is fashioned by a long and progressive chain of events which are mostly random. Each new event modifies the universe. The so called laws of nature and the universal constants are only the numbers of the current state of affairs.
