Right to Long Life
The Right to Long Life
The population of the oldies is relatively on the increase. It is already causing strains on the health of society. The younger people who constitute the work force are feeling the pinch. Additionally, the rich and powerful among the oldies are able to prolong their lives by purchasing or stealing the organs of less fortunate people. Sometimes the unwilling 'donors' are murdered. This cannibalism is impermissible, morally and socially. People like Amit (Doctor Amit who performed 600 kidney transplants) are tools. They are the supari killers. They must be apprehended and punished. But the real criminals are those who pay lakhs for the killing. It is their criminality that also needs to be addressed. I think oldies' unabridged right to long life at the cost of younger people must be curtailed and justly regulated in the best interest of society.
